See this before buying a cable modem for Optimum. After lengthy research, we found these modems to be compatible with Altice One services Optimum and formerly Cablevision. There is no official list of approved modems provided by Altice. They just state on their website that “There are many DOCSIS modems that will work.” However, not just any DOCSIS modem will work. Use the guides below to find the most compatible cable modem for your services and speeds. Customers who have the Altice One cable box should not order their own modem. The Altice One provides for the Internet as well as TV and some other features all in one unit.

Avoid These Modems
Contrary to what other sites may tell you, the following modems DO NOT work with Optimum services. This is based on ratings, reviews, and other information relating to the poor operation of these modems. This includes modems affected by the bad Intel Puma 6 chipset which has caused a tremendous amount of headaches.
- ARRIS SURFboard SB6190
- ARRIS SURFboard SBG7580AC
- NETGEAR CM700
- Linksys CM3024
The NETGEAR CM700 is not approved for use by Altice Optimum. Anyways, the CM700 should also be avoided at all costs due to it being built with the poor Intel Puma 6 Chipset. This Chipset has caused a lot of latency issues. The Puma 6 Chipset is even the subject of a class-action lawsuit. It is contained in all 4 of the models as well.
