DOCSIS 3.1 Wave Broadband Cable Modems

These are DOCSIS 3.1 cable modems that are compatible with Wave Broadband. A DOCSIS 3.1 modem is required for the Gig Speed tier. Without it you will not be able to obtain the speed you are paying for with Wave.

General rules to follow when buying a new Wave Broadband cable modem

  • Tiers HS 10 – 500 requires a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem
  • Tier HS 10 – 50 requires at least 8 downstream channels
  • Tier HS 100 requires 24 downstream channels
  • Tier HS 250 requires 24 downstream channels
  • HS 500 & Gig Speed require a DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem
  • Wave customers with voice will have to use a Wave provided eMTA modem. ​
