Soon to be released from Commscope under the ARRIS Surfboard brand are the G34 and G36 DOCSIS 3.1 WiFi cable modems. While it is unclear, as of the time of writing, when the new modems will be released, this is what I do know.
Modem Router Combo
Here we focus only on modem router combos for XFINITY. Gateways, WiFi Modem, and Modem Router are all common terms and used interchangeably. With a WiFi modem, you have all you need in one unit to supply Internet to multiple WiFi devices.
Common terms you will see alongside gateways, are WiFi-5 and WiFi-6, the latter being the latest release. That is, besides WiFi-6E, but that is up-and-coming technology and I’ll get into that in the near future. Now, WiFi-5 is a.k.a. Wireless AC and/or 802.11AC. Likewise, WiFi-6 is a.k.a. Wireless AX and/or 802.11AX. With either one, when it comes to the router’s wireless speed, you will see something like this – AC2000. You will note that the first 2 letters are the wireless type, and the following numbers tell you what speed, in Mbps, the router operates wirelessly.
Now that you have an understanding of the common terms, let’s look at the list of compatible modem routers for Comcast XFINITY.

The distance between the modem and device also matter to your wireless speed.
